Ash Cottage is an adorable detached barn conversion in the quiet village of Longdown, just four miles from the bustling city of Exeter and on the edge of the Dartmoor National Park. Here you're within easy reach of numerous sandy beaches and many tourist attractions; this bright, welcoming and comfortable cottage is well placed for exploring the area.
On the ground floor the open plan living/kitchen/diner has a lofty full height ceiling, smart wooden floors and an attractive living flame fire. Above, reached via a handsome wooden staircase, sits the first floor mezzanine where you'll find twin beds tucked neatly under the eaves. The stylish master bedroom and family bathroom are situated downstairs.
Outside you can take in the sunset from your own private patio garden, and maybe spot some of the local wildlife, including deer and birds of prey, which can often be seen in the adjacent fields. On a clear day, the rural views towards Exeter and beyond are spectacular.
Exeter is city in south Devon with a cathedral, historic quayside with artisan shops and cafés, guided tours of the underground passages and bars, shops and restaurants. There are museums tracing the citys history including 'The Tuckers Hall'. Nearby, Parliament Street is less than 25 inches wide. Rougemont castle's gatehouse and tower still stand, surrounded by gardens. Within a 15 minute drive of the city, there are beaches at Sidmouth and Exmouth, and the Jurassic Coast, all provide ample opportunities for relaxation, sport and exploration. Exeter is an ideal base from which to explore countryside and Heritage Coast.
