Orchard Cottage in Devon is a charming property that has received praise for its spaciousness, character, and peaceful countryside setting. Guests have enjoyed the warm welcome from the host, including delightful touches like homemade bread and cake. While the cottage offers a comfortable stay and is dog-friendly, some guests have noted issues with the shower pressure and other maintenance concerns. The location is appreciated for its privacy and proximity to local attractions, despite being near a new housing development.
Most guests found Orchard Cottage to be clean and comfortable, with only a few mentioning the need to sweep upon arrival or the oven requiring a deep clean. The overall impression is that the property is well-maintained.
The location is generally seen as quiet and private with lovely countryside views, although some guests were surprised by the proximity to a new housing development. The convenience for exploring East Devon and the accessibility to Exeter and other attractions are appreciated.
Guests have commented on the comfortable beds and cosy atmosphere of the cottage. However, some have noted issues with the size of the double bed and a creaky single bed, which slightly affected the overall comfort rating.
While the cottage is equipped with necessary amenities and guests enjoyed the spacious living area, recurring comments about the inadequate shower pressure and other maintenance issues such as the oven and heater have impacted the facilities score.
The host's thoughtfulness is frequently mentioned, with guests appreciating the homemade bread, cake, and other welcome treats. It is noted that these personal touches greatly enhance the guest experience, although they are not guaranteed for every stay.

On the first floor, two pretty bedrooms; a double and a twin bedded room, have original beams and wonderful views over the gardens and countryside. The cottage was warm clean and comfortable and had everything we needed to make our stay relaxing, location is convenient for Exeter and for exploring this part of east Devon. Thank you for a lovely stay, we hope to come back soon.

The cottage was in an ideal location to explore South Devon. Despite a large housing development on land close by, the cottage was still very peaceful. The secure garden ensured it was dog friendly. The only thing stopping me giving '5 stars' was the fact that some of the facilities were somewhat dated but still in full working order. Great value for money and would stay there again

Loved waking up to the sound of sheep every morning.
