The fitted kitchen has all the appliances you’ll need for holiday cooking, and the farmhouse dining table is spacious enough for board games or pouring over a map. Sink into the comfy seating in the lounge area and enjoy an evening in, perhaps watching a favourite show on the Smart TV. Two lovely bedrooms, a double and a twin, feature painted tongue-and-groove walls and a mix of vintage furniture, and they share a spacious wet room. The deck outside is a delightful place on which to relax with a coffee or light the BBQ and linger over supper as the stars come out. In front of the lodge is a field which is perfect for dog walking.

Just 1.5 miles away, the ancient market town of Barnstaple has a variety of shops and places to eat, as well as a large indoor market. Here you can also join the Tarka Trail, a popular off-road route passing through unspoilt countryside. If you fancy a beach day, Saunton Sands is just 9 miles and, for a day hiking or cycling in gorgeous rural scenery, the Exmoor National Park is also 9 miles.
