… midway between East Portlemouth and South Pool, 200 yards above Waterhead Creek (boat launching on to Salcombe estuary and moorings by arrangement) with timeless, timewasting, views over wooded valleys and glimpses of the estuary, a modern house. Steepish drive from the tidal road up to sloping, mainly lawned garden (picnic table) surrounding the house with a further 3 acres of woodland walks and sheep paddocks (which a shepherd occasionally tends). For up to two hours either side of high tide (when higher than 15'6"), there is no vehicle access along the tidal road.
Inside, light, bright and practical. From one of two terraces (table/chairs), door to hall, off which large living room (open fire, TV/DVD) with huge windows to take advantage of the view. Smart galley kitchen (dishwasher, microwave, larder fridge) and, down 2 steps, dining area with creek views and French windows to terrace. Utility room (washing machine, chest freezer). Three bedrooms – a double with en suite shower-room (suite), a twin with TV/DVD and French windows to terrace, and a bright single. Bathroom (suite, shower over bath). Pets permitted during low season weeks in utility room and hall. Sleeps maximum of 5, including babies. An excellent spot for nature lovers, birdwatchers, walkers and stargazers.
