Guests say

Guests consistently praise The Dairy for its cleanliness, idyllic location, and comfort. The hosts, Mike and Jane, are commended for their hospitality, and the property is noted for its peacefulness and proximity to beautiful walks and local attractions. The presence of a friendly dog adds to the charm for animal lovers.

Reviewers frequently mention the immaculate condition of the cottage, highlighting its spotlessness and the sense that they were the first to stay there. The high standard of cleanliness contributes significantly to the positive experiences reported.

The location is repeatedly described as idyllic, perfect for walks, and peaceful, with no traffic noise or light pollution. Its proximity to beaches, coastal paths, and the town of Salcombe is highly appreciated by guests.

The comfort of The Dairy is well-received, with special mentions of the huge and comfortable bed, cosy atmosphere, and the relaxing environment. However, one mention of an uncomfortable sofa slightly impacts the otherwise stellar feedback.

Facilities are generally praised for being good, clean, modern, and convenient. The kitchen is well-equipped, and the log fire ready-laid. Wi-Fi is noted as occasionally iffy, which is understandable in a rural setting, but this does not detract significantly from the overall positive reception.

The hosts' thoughtfulness is evident through gestures like providing a jug of milk and offering local recommendations. While such personal touches are highly valued, it is noted that these are subject to the hosts' discretion and may vary.

Everything is of high quality and immaculately kept. The only possible criticism would be that the sofa isn’t terribly comfortable. The extremely high rating is fully deserved and we would not hesitate to return. Access down the long and narrow country lane could be challenging for a nervous driver.

Well equipped for our stay. Huge comfy bed. We enjoyed sitting on the terrace with a cup of tea in the morning. Very friendly owners, their dog and chickens. Long suggestion of places to visit and places to eat and also supplied us with a list of taxis to use. Would certainly return when we have more time to go off and explore.

  • Jane

It was cosy, comfortable and had everything we needed. The bed was so comfy. This cottage is in a beautiful, quiet spot, ideal for a relaxing holiday away from it all. The owners Jane & Mike made us very welcome. Hope to return again in the future.
