... in Kingston, two marvellously pretty 18th cent. semi-detached cottages, south-facing and 200 yards from the good pub. Communal terrace, and each has its own entrance and small, enclosed, private garden. The gardens are delightful, unusual, with interesting plants and Kingston’s last remaining donkey house (no donkey now). The cottages share free membership of Bigbury Golf Club (unlimited rounds, practice facilities). Interconnecting door (lockable), so if booked together the cottages can accommodate 10. Quaint, characterful cottages in a pretty village.
Clematis Cottage is beautifully restored: original beams (some low ceilings), delightful. From a quiet lane, entrance via old herb garden with patio (table/chairs, barbecue) to entrance with tiled floor (washing machine, tumble drier); cloakroom (loo). Three steps down to fitted kitchen/dining room (dishwasher, microwave, freezer, larder fridge) with old pine dining table. Lovely large living room with Victorian open fireplace, TV/DVD/Blu-ray/PVR. Steep stairs (rope rail, stairgates) from living room up to two bedrooms – a double (5’ bed) and a twin, each with en suite bathroom (suite, shower over bath).
