Guests have praised 33 Island Street for its cleanliness, well-equipped kitchen, and convenient location close to Salcombe's waterfront and amenities. The cottage's character and cosy furnishings are appreciated, although some guests noted the main bedroom's mattress was hard. The property's compact size and steep stairs are mentioned, but overall, the accommodation is well-regarded for short stays.
Reviewers are very pleased with the cleanliness of the cottage, noting the availability of cleaning products.
The property's location is highly valued for its proximity to the waterfront, eateries, and local services, contributing to a positive experience.
Comfort receives a good score, with positive remarks about the property's furnishings. However, the hardness of the main bedroom's mattress and the sitting room comfort for longer stays in bad weather slightly lower the score.
Facilities are generally well-received, with a well-equipped kitchen and effective bathroom. The absence of a microwave and issues with a bath tap are noted, as well as a lack of pegs for the washing line.
There is no mention of gifts or special thoughtful touches in the reviews, so this category cannot be scored.

The property is in a great location right in the heart of the town at water level, so flat for those who struggle with hills, of which there are plenty around Salcombe.

Being at the far end of the row was great from a noise and privacy point of view but does mean the cottage is quite dark - can't be helped, just something to be aware of. Also would have been good to have some pegs for the washing line, we couldn't find any! Loved the photos on the walls. Parking in the longstay with the permit was easy (over a weekend in early July).
