Prospects in Salcombe offers a well-equipped and spacious holiday experience with stunning views and a convenient location. The property is particularly praised for its child-friendly amenities and comfortable furnishings. While some guests have raised concerns about cleanliness and maintenance, the overall sentiment is positive, with many expressing a desire to return.
Several reviews mention issues with cleanliness, including dust, mould, and unclean kitchenware. Despite some positive comments, the recurring theme of cleanliness concerns has impacted the score.
The location is highly praised for its proximity to town and stunning views, despite the steep hill and steps mentioned. It is considered perfect by most reviewers.
Guests find the property comfortable, with cosy furnishings and a homely feel. Some concerns about dampness and a draughty bedroom slightly affect the score.
The property is well-stocked and suitable for families, but several reviews cite issues with maintenance such as broken appliances and the need for TLC. The facilities are generally good, but these issues have led to a moderate score.
The owners are commended for their thoughtfulness, especially regarding child/baby equipment. No specific gifts are mentioned, so while the property is well-received for its considerate touches, the absence of gift references means the score reflects the general thoughtfulness.

The linens were clean. However it is very tired and lacks a personal touch, it has very clearly been rented for a long time. The sofa needs cleaning. We paid a reduced last minute price, I would not of been happy paying the full price.

The outdoor space is very good, the property was very clean throughout. The beds were comfortable and we enjoyed our stay. The bonus of a full size parking space should not be underestimated in Salcombe. The property is located within easy reach of all local amenities. If we had one improvement it would be to upgrade the TV to a modern SMART TV to allow greater access to TV apps. We would rebook for next year but we have seen that the property is up for sale and this has put us off.

It needs a deep clean & a good tidy up outside with a bit of maintenance. Previous occupiers hadnât washed crockery very well when choosing plates cups etc had to re wash. Of course didnât use all so some must still be dirty. Lovely property & great location & very comfortable so were pleased. A bit disappointed with the welcome pack 4 tea bags some freeze dried coffee 1 hot chocolates sachet & a random amount of milk sachets with one little tube of washing up liquid! Very impersonal & not very welcoming wher were the biscuits?
