The location is pretty spot on too, set on the clifftop with the beach in reach, it’s got to be one of the best spots in South Devon for a seaside escape. Hope Cove is the perfect spot for sandcastles with the kids, wild swimming, kayaking and stand up paddleboarding, combine that with some of the best seafood shacks, pubs and restaurants all just a just a short walk away.
Carswell Quarters comes complete with a large balcony and stunning sea views. Perfect relaxing at sunset with a glass of fizz.
Sleeping up to 4 guests, the property has 2 stylish bedrooms offering plenty of space for family and friends to escape, entertain and have fun.
Enter the property via exterior stairs which lead up to the entrance to Carswell Quarters. The bright and spacious hallway leads to the bedrooms, family bathroom and open plan living space. Wide glass doors open onto the balcony seamlessly bringing the outside in, a beautiful spot to relax and watch the comings and goings on the water whatever the season.
From the front door and down the hall there are two bedrooms; a smart kingsize with chunky wooden bed and industrial style shelf bedsides, with lovely countryside and village views. The master bedroom is relaxed and comfortable with smart grey panelling behind the bedhead and coastal views through the floor to ceiling window. The luxurious en suite shower room has a large brass rain head shower and a Vogue heated towel rail. The style continues into the spacious family bathroom which is beautiful with an encaustic style floor and a bath for relaxing, there’s a shower over the bath complete with black framed glass screen and a brass rain head shower.
The sociable open plan living area is the hub of this outstanding holiday home. The contemporary L-shaped kitchen area is well stocked with Neff appliances, Nespresso coffee machine and DeLonghi kettle and toaster. You’ll find everything you could possibly need to cook up your favourite dishes and the large breakfast bar is perfect for chatting over a glass of wine. There’s a large dining table with benches, sofa and easy chairs for relaxing. Step outside and the elevated aspect offers the most amazing sea view from the wide balcony.

Carswell Quarters is the reduced occupancy version of Carswell Cove which doesn't include use of the bunk room or trundle bed. We had a fantastic break at Carswell Quarters. The location was superb and perfect for easy access straight onto the Coast Path for frequent walks with our woofer. And the uninterrupted views are to die for. The arrival information from Finest Stays was very helpful. Although The Lanterns was not difficult to find, the instructions for driving to the location and the photos of what to look for, the parking space and the steps up to the front door etc were a nice touch. The apartment itself is beautifully decorated and furnished. The bathrooms and kitchen especially have the "wow" factor. The beds and bedlinen are top quality and very comfortable and the towels superbly "fluffy". We enjoyed the treats in the thoughtful "goody bag". The kitchen is well equipped. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Definitely a 5 stars from us! We had the most wonderful stay in the beautiful Carswell Apartment. The views were gorgeous, the apartment was immaculate and comfortable and we loved the welcome package. Most of which was demolished within two days. Our dog Bartlet also loved everything and made himself at home very quickly. Being able to step out onto the South West Coastal Path in an instant was such a bonus and we enjoyed walking to the Beach House for lunch and trying the other eateries in Hope Cove. We will definitely be back!!

This is the second summer our family has stayed at the apartment and we enjoyed our stay just as much as last time. The apartment is perfectly coastal chic, with all creature comforts, and it was so easy to slip into Devon life. The view from the balcony is quite literally breathtaking. Many moments were spent just gazing out. The location is brilliant for picturesque Hope Cove, Thurlestone Beach, and within easy driving distance to Kingsbridge and Salcombe. We enjoyed our stay enormously, and will most probably be back again next year!
