… a mile from Manaton, below Hound Tor, a detached cottage, totally secluded and peaceful, part dating from the 16th cent.. One hundred yards of steep, narrow drive lead to it. Three acres of woods, stream and enclosed lawned garden (bench, lily pond) surround it. You can walk or mountain bike straight on to the moor (pub, about 1½ miles).
Inside, exceptionally comfortable. Beamed living room with inglenook (woodburner), TV/DVD/video; kitchen/dining room (dishwasher, microwave, fridge-freezer); utility area (washer-drier); downstairs double bedroom with en suite bathroom (suite); second bathroom (suite with separate shower) via utility room. Stairs up to two twin bedrooms – one with en suite loo (low ceiling), and the other with washbasin (limited clothes-hanging space). Pets permitted in kitchen and utility areas only. A summer house in the garden, with two single beds, is available by arrangement (extra) - fun for older children or pioneering adults. Garage at top of driveway. Spring water. Stabling, golf and fly-fishing available nearby. A captivating, magical place.
