Guests say

The Old Haybarn is highly praised for its peaceful location, cleanliness, and well-equipped facilities. Guests appreciate the thoughtful touches like fresh milk and flowers, and the property's conversion is often described as excellent. The garden and woodburner are recurrent highlights, although some mention the internet connection is slow and the property can be chilly at times.

The majority of guests report that The Old Haybarn is spotlessly clean, with only a single mention of cobwebs. The consistent emphasis on cleanliness suggests a high standard is typically maintained.

The property's location is frequently described as peaceful and quiet, with a countryside setting that is still accessible to main roads. The narrow lanes are noted, but they contribute to the property's charm. The exact location in Combe Fishacre, rather than Ipplepen, is highlighted for clarity.

Guests find The Old Haybarn comfortable, with special mentions of the cosy woodburner and comfortable furnishings. Some guests note the property can be a bit chilly, but this is mitigated by the provided heating solutions.

The facilities are generally well-received, with the property being well-equipped for guests' needs. However, there are comments about slow internet and suggestions for minor improvements in kitchen equipment, which slightly affect the score.

The hosts' thoughtfulness is frequently commended, with mentions of welcome gifts such as scones, cream, jam, and wine. While these gestures are greatly appreciated, it is noted that such extras, though delightful, are not guaranteed for every stay.

There's parking for two or three cars. There are good walks direct from the cottage and it's not far from Dartmoor. Newton Abbot and Totnes are nearby and great for eating out. A perfect base for exploring the area although a car is essential, as there are no shops or pubs within 40 minutes walk.

The owner, living just by, was very helpful in answering a couple of queries we had.

It was very clean, comfortable and the added extras of wine milk and flowers were a nice touch and very much appreciated. There is sufficient off road parking along side the property. The garden is very pleasant with furniture to sit; particularly nice to sit out after a day exploring.
