… 2 miles from Bideford, quietly situated on the edge of a valley, is Pillhead Farm, a 130 acre working sheep farm with paddocks, small orchard and plenty of space for guests to roam. Within the original farmstead there are four cottages carefully converted from barns and the oldest part of the original farmhouse. We let three. The cottages share the grounds, a splendid  outdoor solar-heated swimming pool (15’x30’ x 4’ to 5’deep) with small paddling pool (9x10x1½’ deep), available mid May to mid September) and sunbathing terrace (loungers),  mown orchard and  picnic area.  Each cottage is quite separate from the others, with its own outside space and individual and spacious interior.  

Garden Cottage is a wing of the main farmhouse where the charming owners live. To one side, your own well-planted and quite private enclosed garden (picnic table). From the courtyard, steps up to front door and hall, off which a step down to dining room with piano and views over the garden and a step down to  smart kitchen (dishwasher, washer-drier, microwave, fridge-freezer, electric cooker).. Comfortable, elegant living room (TV/DVD).  Upstairs, a huge landing leads to three bedrooms, all with TVs – a double (four-poster bed) with en suite shower-room (suite), a twin with view of the garden and, up a step, another twin. Bathroom (suite plus hand-shower).
