Gather friends and family for a holiday to remember in this characterful converted barn in the heart of the North Devon countryside. Enjoy picturesque walks directly from the property, followed by a hearty meal in the nearby village pub (0.5 miles). Alternatively, pack up your buckets and spades and head to the coast for a day at the beach in Bude (16 miles). In the evenings, take a relaxing swim in your private indoor swimming pool or toast marshmallows around the fire pit.
The single-storey converted barn is set in an elevated position and boasts far-reaching rural views. Inside, whitewashed stone walls and exposed trusses add personality and charm, while vibrant soft furnishings and quirky accessories bring a contemporary twist. The social hub of the house is an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with an impressive vaulted ceiling. The stylish kitchen area has everything needed to cater for a large group, and you can dine together at the bench-style seating or perch at the breakfast bar. An eclectic mix of sofas are set around the Smart TV, creating a cosy spot for movie nights. The property has four inviting bedrooms, all of which are accessed via a small step. Two of the bedrooms have en-suite shower rooms and one of the bedrooms also has glass doors leading out to the terrace. A stylish family shower room completes the accommodation. You’ll have a choice of areas to relax outside, including a decked terrace with outdoor seating, a fire pit and a large lawn where children and dogs can play. You’ll also have easy access to the river for wild swimming, or you can bring your own kayak or paddleboard.
The historic town of Great Torrington is 10.5 miles away and has a good selection of independent shops, cafes and pubs. The town also hosts regular markets and is a great place to pick up local arts and crafts, as well as delicious produce for your supper. For a day at the coast, journey to Bude, where you’ll discover a fabulous, sandy beach, tidal pool, dramatic cliff-top walks, and traditional seaside shops and eateries. Nearby family attractions include RHS Rosemoor, The Big Sheep, and Dartington Crystal (all within 20 miles).

Property is not clean. Cobwebs and dead insects all over the property which have been there a long time. Smells damp and mouldy which you bring the odour home with you in your clothes. Water is from a borehole which means when you wash your hands they smell of pennies. You're advised it is drinkable but I'd recommend buying bottled water. Private pool was swamp green on arrival and remained green the whole week. Pool room decor and finish of a very poor quality for the price and very much a bad DIY project. Flooring around the pool is untreated and not sanded planks of wood. Left a night early due to all the above. Didn't feel like somewhere we could stay another day.

A very out of the way place but lovely. Children really enjoyed the pool, and there is a great sitting outside area under the veranda. Beds were so comfortable. It is such a great place we would go again.
Dr Mundell
Lovely property, exactly as described. The pool is great fun and nice and warm. Amazing scenery and gardens right outside your front door!
