Set within a beautiful 42-acre working farm, this peaceful cottage provides a perfect rural retreat for a family of four, or for a couple looking for a tranquil and restful break in the spectacular Devon countryside. Close to the border with Cornwall, you will also be a short distance from the stunning Cornish coast. Ideally situated for visiting the stunning Dartmoor National Park (5 miles), and with beautiful views across the surrounding fields, this light, inviting and spacious property makes an ideal holiday home.
Comfortable and tastefully decorated, the cottage features a cosy open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with an open fire and two comfortable bedrooms. Stepping outside, you can relax and enjoy a BBQ in the garden. There’s a sand-pit for children and guests are also welcome - by arrangement with the owners - to visit the working farm and meet the animals, including pedigree South Devon cattle and rare Whiteface Dartmoor sheep. Lambing and calving take place from February to May so there could be new arrivals to meet.
Dartmoor National Park offers miles of wonderful walks with beautiful scenery, or you could explore the Tamar Valley (26 miles) and Bodmin Moor (28 miles). Among many local attractions are the ruins of Okehampton Castle (4 miles), Lydford Gorge (12 miles), Roadford Lake (18 miles) and the War Horse Valley Country Farm Park (9 miles). Nearby towns include Okehampton (4 miles) and Tavistock (17 miles), both offering a range of independent shops, restaurants and pubs. Heading over to the coast, you can visit the popular seaside resorts of Bude (26 miles) and Westward Ho! (28 miles).
