Set over two floors, the ground-floor consists of a well-equipped kitchen where you can conjure up hearty dishes before toasting to a special getaway with your loved one at the dining table. Head outdoors and relax on the veranda as you appreciate this idyllic setting or why not make use of the Canadian cedarwood hot tub for the ultimate form of relaxation. The upper floor is complete with a king-size bed, fur deer skins, plump cushions and warm wool carpets, creating a wonderfully cosy environment. Allow the morning sun to gently wake you up through the shutters and French door windows, before heading to the en-suite shower room for a freshen up. All this and more awaits at The Bird Box. Okehampton is a busy market town on the edge of the Dartmoor National Park and near the highest and most dramatic areas of the moor, where Yes Tor rises to a height above 2000 feet. To the north of Okehampton are some beautiful rolling Devon hills where small farming villages nestle amidst woods and fields with plenty of gently flowing rivers. The fabulous Roadford Reservoir offers a multitude of watersport activities and fishing opportunities. Okehampton has a prominent medieval castle overlooking a wooded river valley, the Museum of Dartmoor Life and Okehampton train station, which has been restored to its 1950s glory: The Dartmoor Line now operates a service between Okehampton and Exeter every hour, 7 days a week. The town also has access to fabulous walks and Simmons Park where you’ll find a children’s adventure playground. This area of Devon has plenty of farm shops and country inns serving good food where visitors can spend time relaxing and unwinding amongst unspoilt countryside.
