Welcome to Homer Farm, Homer Barn and Homer Old Spot collectively known as Homer. Homer dates back to 1721. There has been a dwelling on this site since 1086 documented in the Domesday book. Homer is set in 16 acres of beautiful countryside on the edge of the village of Mary Tavy. As this is the oldest part of Mary Tavy it is also in a designated Conservation Area and within Dartmoor National Park. Cholwell Brook gurgles and weaves it way through the property and half a mile on it joins the river Tavy. The brook provides the tranquil sound of running water as well as an amazing backdrop to your morning coffee or evening glass of wine.

Guests are encouraged to wander through the fields and meet the animals. We like the idea of the surroundings being a wildlife haven and we do like the wild flowers to thrive. There is a great sitting area down on the bend in the brook where you can have your camp fire and take in the magnificent stars when the weather is clear.

We have a range of pork, bacon, sausages and lamb for sale that we rear here on our smallholding along with free range eggs. Also in the utility shed, in the cupboard on the wall is a selection of jams, jellies, marma

Myself and my Mum look after the accommodation on Homer Farm. For any bookings of two nights or more we provide you with milk and a homemade cake on arrival. We look forward to meeting you when you arrive.

Dartmoor and the surrounding area is stunning in all seasons and has fantastic opportunities for everyone to enjoy. You can walk from Homer over the river Tavy, through the village of Peter Tavy and be straight onto the moors. We are ideally located to explore the coasts of North & South Devon and Cornwall.
