In the small hamlet of Sampford Spiney, tucked away at the end of a private drive is Buster Barn, a detached single-storey converted granite barn. You have the best of both worlds here, scenic and secluded, yet close to interesting moorland towns Buster Barn is well placed for exploring wild and rugged Dartmoor. The spacious open-plan living area with an oak fitted kitchen, (washer-drier, microwave, fridge-freezer, gas hob/electric oven) armchairs and sofa bed (converts to double bed for alternative sleeping), has glazed double doors to the courtyard garden - a lovely place to spend time. The spacious kingsize bedroom is tranquil and inviting and has a huge en suite bathroom. Buster Barn is surrounded by an enclosed courtyard where there is a table and chairs, barbecue and ornamental pond (netted), over which a neat little trip trap bridge leads to gently sloping hillside garden and arbour with spectacular long views to a panorama of tors. You can walk via a small lane to the open moor and Crip Tor and Ingra Tor are both around ¾ mile away. Further afield, the market town of Tavistock has an indoor pool, cinema and plenty of shops and restaurants, and Plymouth, Devon's Ocean City is within an easy drive.
A delightful award-winning market town on the River Tavy, nestling in the south-west slopes of Dartmoor. Tavistock has an indoor pannier market, a diverse range of shops, an excellent choice of pubs, bistros, restaurants, a theatre and a cinema, as well as a leisure pool.

The owners were friendly and helpful. The gardens were beautifully maintained and very colourful. The range of birds at the bird feeders was amazing. As we discussd with the owners, the access is via very narrow lanes that some may find difficult. The cottage is on the edge of Dartmoor with access to walks along old railway tracks to Princetown, there are many other places to visit and excellent pubs

The property is perfect; clean and comfortable with everything you need. The location is just amazing, a beautiful dog friendly garden and views across the moors. We spent a long time sitting and enjoying the peace and tranquility watching the dragonflies and birds. Lovely dog walks onto the moors from the door. Have already booked again for next year!
