Completely organic, authentic and full of character, The Straw Bothy is a unique glamping experience set on an environmentally friendly farm in rural Dorset, making it a fun and different environmentally friendly place for a family adventure.

Furnished beautifully in a Middle Eastern style, the bothy comes with a quirky Chuck Wagon which houses the kitchen and bathroom. Made from straw bales, The Straw Bothy was crafted by Huff & Puff Construction, who featured on 'George Clarke's Shed of the Year.' It is a wonderful building and made completely organically. The decor includes a king-size bed, wood burning stove, sofa, and lots of rugs and soft furnishings. It is also possible to have the day bed made up as two single beds if you wish to come away as a family.

There is a separate 'Chuck Wagon' next to The Straw Bothy across a small footbridge. In here the kitchen is equipped with a gas hob and oven and all the crockery and utensils you need, plus eco washing up liquid and t towels. There's also a WC in here, and an outdoor shower with hot running water.

Outside there is a decked area adorned with fairy lights, which is perfect for alfresco dining or chilling out with a coffee and a book. There is also a firepit which doubles up as a barbecue so you can toast marshmallows under the stars.

The Straw Bothy prides itself on being environmentally friendly and the site has been a finalist for awards such as The Dorset Environmental Award and BV Dairy Investing in Dorset Award. There is a flower farm, an Italian inspired cafe and shop also to enjoy at the farm.

Linen for the two day beds is available for an additional charge of £20 per bed.

Hampers and cooked meals available by prior arrangement.

The Straw Bothy does not have wifi. There is a designated work space with wifi in the honesty shop. 4G is good on site.

Cot and highchair are available on request.

Inside The Straw Bothy

King-size bed, with bedding provided, plus additional blankets and hot water bottles. Wood burning stove (initial logs supplied), sofa, day bed and table and chairs. Candles and battery lighting.

The Chuck Wagon

Gas hob, gas oven, utensils, sink, crockery and glasses. WC. Hot water, towels, eco toiletries supplied.

Outdoor shower with hot running water.

Outside

Decking area with table and chairs. Firepit which doubles up as a barbecue. Initial logs provided.

There is parking for one car at the bottom of the meadow where the tents are situated - any more cars can park in the farm yard.
