Guests say

Hill View is a well-regarded cottage in Wareham, Dorset, praised for its quiet location, lovely views, and suitability for dogs. Guests appreciate the comfortable beds, well-equipped kitchen, and the garden. Some minor maintenance issues were noted, but the responsive service to reported problems and the property's overall charm seem to outweigh these concerns.

The property is generally considered clean, but there were comments about dirty windows and a stained mattress protector. These seem to be isolated incidents rather than a trend.

The location is highly praised for its quietness, good views, and proximity to local amenities and scenic walks, making it an ideal spot for a peaceful retreat.

The cottage is found to be comfortable, with a nice garden and quality bedding. However, some guests mentioned issues with the beds and a thick duvet being too warm for summer.

Facilities are generally good, but several maintenance issues such as a broken cafetiere, slow toilet, and heating problems were reported. The kitchen is well-equipped, but could benefit from additional items.

There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the hosts, so it is not possible to provide a score in this category.

It really is a must to see Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door, which are located in the centre of this region. There are many little eateries and beachside shacks in Lulworth Cove that serve fresh local seafood, ice cream, and other delectables. There are also several restaurants and bars to select from. The construction of the cove and Durdle Door as well as the Jurassic history of the area are explained in the Lulworth estate information centre. If you grow weary of the Cove and clifftop treks, Lulworth Castle, Tyneham Village, and Corfe Castle are only a short drive away and provide another look at some more recent history. Very clean and well equipped. Unfortunately for us, the central heating was not working for over 24hrs so not quite as comfortable and cosy as we had hoped, especially after coming back from a coastal walk. (And compounded when the owner said they would "prefer" we didn't use the wood burner to keep warm!).

The response was very good. Someone came out within an hour or so, and did a temporary fix which worked fine for us, and a couple of days later another engineer/plumber visited the property and made a permanent repair. We also notified them of water leaking through the kitchen ceiling during a day of very heavy rain. We put a saucepan under the leak, and once the rain stopped, so did the leak. It didn't spoil our enjoyment of the property.

It is perfectly located for excellent walks and exploring the fantastic coastline.
