About this property

‘The Beach House’ is a well-presented, semi-detached cottage style home located at 8 Buttercup Way in West Bay, on the edge of this seaside resort and close to many fantastic attractions. Set over two floors, The Beach House offers a fantastic base for those seeking to uncover the delights of this region, including Chesil Beach, the UK’s only natural World Heritage site, the Jurassic Coast and the Dorset Area Of Natural Beauty. Enter into the living room, where you can put your feet up after a long day of rambling, equipped with a feature gas fire and smart TV for relaxing nights in. Move into the kitchen/diner where you can rustle up a feast for the group, utilising the electric oven, gas hob and dishwasher for your self-catering needs. Why not pop open a bottle of bubbly and toast to your holiday at the dining table? As you look to catch some rest, venture upstairs to find the bedrooms; one double and the other a twin, both wonderfully presented and serviced by a shower room where you can prepare for the day ahead, with views of rolling hills from the rear bedroom, along with tranquil setting of the footpath/bridleway and stream from the front bedroom and living room. In the morning, awaken to a fresh coffee from the Nespresso machine and step out into the sunny conservatory or into the enclosed rear cottage style garden, a tranquil spot to enjoy a moments peace before going about the day. When you’re ready to explore, there’s plenty to fill out your holiday itinerary; sunbathe on West Bay’s golden beach, hire a boat and sail around the beautiful harbour or join the South West Coast Path and discover hidden coves and scenic views or join the Brit Valley Way and head north along the meandering River Brit to the Beaminster Downs and the idyllic Dorset countryside. If you fancy a night out, there’s a plethora of well-established restaurants along the harbour, as well as traditional pubs where you can sample whisky and locally produced real ales. Nearby arty Bridport offers a fascinating museum, the UK’s only thatched brewery (Palmers) with brewery tours and the bustling twice-weekly Bridport market is perfect for sourcing local goods and produce. Explore the along the coast and find excellent swimming and fossil hunting conditions in Charmouth or visit a variety of species at Dinosaurland Fossil Museum in Lyme Regis, an excellent choice for the little ones. Expect adventure at every turn during a holiday at The Beach House.

Bridport is a charming market town that grew up around the River Brit and was shaped by its long history of rope and net manufacturing. The flax threads were formerly twisted into rope on the long, broad streets and passageways between the buildings, but today same streets are filled with a fascinating array of businesses, restaurants, and inns. The market in Bridport is frequently featured in the River Cottage television show. The stunning Jurassic coast at West Bay, now a World Heritage Site, lies 2 miles south of Bridport and serves as the backdrop for TV's Harbour Lights and the seaside setting for popular Broadchurch, while Lyme Regis is only 10 miles away. A fantastic base for exploring West Dorset.
