Guests say

Frome Lodge House is a quaint cottage in Dorchester, Dorset, appreciated for its excellent location, with several guests noting its proximity to local amenities and attractions. The property is recognised for its cleanliness and the secure garden, which is a hit with dog owners. Some guests mentioned receiving cakes upon arrival, adding a touch of thoughtfulness to their stay. However, there are mentions of dated decor and issues with the shower and drainage that suggest room for improvement in facilities and maintenance.

The property generally receives positive remarks on cleanliness, with mentions of it being 'very clean'. However, there are isolated complaints about mustiness and a specific issue with bathroom drainage affecting the cleanliness experience.

The location is highly praised for being close to the town centre and within walking distance to shops and restaurants. Its proximity to good walking routes is also appreciated, although some guests noted traffic noise.

Guests find the beds comfortable and the property cosy, but there are comments about dated furniture and uncomfortable mattresses in the smaller room, which affects the overall comfort score.

Facilities are adequate with secure gardens and prompt WiFi repair service mentioned. However, several guests reported issues with the shower and drainage, indicating a need for maintenance improvements.

There is a single mention of cakes and tea left for guests, which is a nice touch, but as it is not a consistent theme across the reviews, it is not possible to accurately score thoughtfulness based on the available information.

Very clean and comfortable. The owners had left us cakes and tea for when we arrived. The garden was completely in closed which was great for our dogs. The only issue we had was it was right next to a very busy road and was very noisy

When entering it smelt musty and felt damp . Not very welcoming it was very drab and outdated. The furniture was ok but too low for my disabled mother. So I got her a garden chair to sit on . The cooker wasn’t very clean. So we just had sandwiches. I did email the company to ask to be moved on Sunday but nobody got back to me . So disappointed with this property! We both was looking forward to our holiday because I have just finished cancer treatment. So we made the decision to go home, because mum has asthma and it was a damp cottage . And having mum sit on a garden chair was not acceptable mum was really upset

That being said it didn’t stop us having a fantastic holiday knowing the garden was enclosed so the dog and the our granddaughter could be out safely. The location was perfect for visiting the coastline and walking into Dorchester itself. Having a pub in 5 minutes walking distance was bonus and the food was great too.
