A truly rural spot, appealing to those who really want to experience the country life, this attractive cottage offers upside down holiday accommodation. A comfortably furnished double bedroom is on the ground floor next to the shower room, whilst the first floor opens up into a good-sized social space, with a kitchen, dining area and sitting area under an impressive beamed vaulted ceiling. Outside, there's a sun trap private patio area, a great place for enjoying time together listening to the sounds of the countryside. The cottage is right on National Cycle Way 26, offering lovely byways to explore, as well as scenic rural walks straight from the door, including Castle Hill, a small Iron Age earthwork from which there are lovely views. Within an easy drive you can take in a trip to ancient Sherborne, the beautiful gardens of Forde Abbey, the famous Cerne Abbas Giant, cut into the chalk hillside, or visit the bustling Dorset county market town of Dorchester, and even the gorgeous Dorset coast. In fact you really are spoilt for choice as to what to visit whilst staying at this unusual rural cottage!

Very private with all necessary facilities. Having the bedroom etc on the ground floor and the kitchen, lounge on the first floor was no problem. Owners unobtrusive but readily available if needed. Lovely holiday in a beautiful county. Brian Hales
