Guests say

Braeside Cottage in Lyme Regis is praised for its clean, comfortable rooms and a games room that delights both children and adults. The property's large kitchen table and secure garden are appreciated for family gatherings, though some guests noted a musty smell and issues with plumbing. The welcome pack was a nice touch, and the property's maintenance was responsive to issues.

Guests generally found the cottage clean, with spotless bathrooms and comfortable beds. However, a musty smell was mentioned, slightly detracting from the overall cleanliness experience.

The property is in a great location, but some guests were surprised by the busy road and the 20-minute walk to town. The garden's lack of sunlight due to heavy foliage was also a concern.

The cottage's beds were praised for their comfort, and the games room added to the overall comfort level. However, the musty smell and temperature disparities between floors affected the comfort for some guests.

Facilities like the games room and large kitchen table were highlights. Maintenance issues with plumbing, lighting, and a leaky ceiling were promptly addressed, but recurring problems suggest room for improvement.

While a welcome pack was mentioned, which indicates thoughtfulness, there is insufficient information to determine if such gestures are consistent or to what extent they impact the guest experience. Therefore, a score cannot be provided, and guests should note that such amenities are not guaranteed.

However, there is a damp problem, with damp patches on some of the ceilings and a musty smell downstairs.

The cottage was clean and the beds very comfortable. The games room was a huge success with the children. The large kitchen table was also very handy for board games in the evening. The welcome pack was a very nice touch. The Victorian cottage was a building of its time. There was a musty smell in a number of the rooms on arrival. Although the windows were opened in the day, there was still a faint smell in the evening. The enclosed garden with the large table was a good place to relax but the foliage needed to be tidied up. A thorny bush adjacent to a gate to gain entrance to the front door of the house needed cutting back. The light in one of the en suites was not working. After contacting the agents, someone was quickly sent out to fix it. However it almost immediately broke down again. We let the agents know again so they could fix this after we had left. These are small things which could be fixed. The cottage was also on a very busy road which we did not expect. However it was a lovely few days away and the children didn't want to leave.

Being an old property it smelt musty in several of the rooms, and the kitchen has a dark, gloomy appearance due to the decor. The downstairs felt cold, but baking hot in the bedrooms on the top floor. During heavy rain, the ceiling in the lounge was leaking and we had to place a pot under it. The listing does not point out it is on a very busy road and about a 20 minute walk, at a fast pace to the town. Garden gloomy with no sun, due to heavy Shrubbery/trees surrounded property. On a plus side the games room was good.
