With two en-suite bedrooms and underfloor heating throughout, this pet-friendly lodge is the ideal retreat for couples or friends looking to relax and unwind in this beautiful part of the country. The private drive leads to the lodge, with its parking space and patio seating area. Step inside to find an impressive open-plan living area with high vaulted ceilings, automated skylight windows, and floor-to-ceiling windows which flood the room with light. With delightful personal touches, the seating area is a bright and welcoming space, with ample seating where you can sit back and relax, taking in a movie or your favourite TV programme. The sleek kitchen area is well-equipped with everything needed for a self-catering holiday, including a dishwasher and coffee machine, with the adjoining laundry room ensuring you have everything needed for your home-from-home holiday. All on one level, the two bedrooms are both tastefully furnished and have en-suite shower rooms. The first bedroom offers flexible sleeping arrangements with a super-king bed, which can be made up as a twin room if required. The second bedroom is an inviting king-size. Outside, the patio area enjoys views over Uplyme and the countryside beyond, with the table and chairs providing a great spot to enjoy dining alfresco. When it comes to the area, the village of Uplyme is only a short stroll away and has a popular village pub, The Talbot Arms, and a Petrol Station with a small convenience store and post office, perfect for stocking up on your everyday essentials. A delightful and picturesque riverside walk from Uplyme takes you into Lyme Regis, a spectacular seaside town with its family-friendly beaches, famous Cobb Harbour, and other popular visitor attractions, including the Marine Aquarium. For the times when you want a break from driving, the lodge is conveniently located for the local bus routes to Lyme Regis and Axminster, with daily services following the coastal route to Weymouth and taking in the pretty villages of Abbotsbury and Burton Bradstock. Other popular days out include Charmouth, with its Coastal Heritage Centre on the beach, where you can learn about the area’s diverse geological history and pick up tips about fossil hunting on the shores. However you plan to spend your holiday, The Lodge at Redlands is a great place to retreat to at the end of each day. The lodge is 60 meters from a bus stop connecting Axminster Station to Uplyme, Lyme Regis, Bridport and along the Jurassic Coast to Weymouth.
The beautiful countryside surrounding the village of Uplyme, on the borders of Devon and Dorset, is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, criss-crossed by bridleways and footpaths including the East Devon Way, and providing perfect country walks and superb views. The area was chosen by TV chef Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall for his River Cottage HQ at Park Farm, where you can treat yourself to a great meal. Just a short drive takes you to the stunning Jurassic Coast at Lyme Regis. This delightful historic seaside town boasts a maze of narrow streets, with an interesting array of shops and cafes, whilst the sandy beach lends itself to great bathing and watersports, and the bustling little harbour offers regular fishing trips, or try your hand at fossil hunting. Within an easy drive is the quaint town of Axminster, or how about a ride on the Seaton Tramway? A glorious location for a varied and interesting holiday.
