They were very friendly and apologetic.

The cottage is comfortable and well equipped, and the owners are friendly and helpful. We walked up to the Ridgeway from the front door. There's a good bus to Weymouth or Dorchester if you don't want to drive in, and one day we used the train too. The Old Ship Inn in the village is nice and so is the popular Wishing Well tearoom and garden.

It is a spacious and very comfortable cottage with all necessary facilities and much more to make for an enjoyable holiday. We returned because our previous stay in May was very good and would thoroughly recommend the accommodation and its helpful owners. The location is great for exploring Dorset and its sights. We enjoyed trips to Swanage using the heritage railway, Sherborne, Abbotsbury and local National Trust properties. Good pub food is available close by and supermarkets are in easy reach.
