Preston 2.8 miles. The cottage is the end of the terrace of Old Coastguard cottages built in the 1840s by Trinity House. The cottage directly overlooks Weymouth Bay and has stunning views. Access to the cottage is 150m from the roadway via the coastal path. There is no vehicular access. With rustic interiors and close-by attractions, this is an ideal base for a family or group of friends looking to explore the coast and countryside of Dorset. Be welcomed into a homely sitting room, where you can recline beside the open fire and warm your feet after a long day at the beach. The kitchen supplies ample amenities to cater to your culinary needs, and you can enjoy a hearty meal in the characterful dining space, as you toast to your holiday with a glass of fizz. On the ground floor you will also find a bathroom, and the first of the bedrooms, a single room with storage. Osmington Mills is a charming seaside hamlet offering a local pub, The Smugglers Inn, and access to close by walks. At Osmington you will find a farm shop for essentials, and for more shops, pubs, and eateries, head over to the seaside town of Preston. Local attractions include National Trust - Ringstead Bay, as well as the nearby Etches collection at Kimmeridge where the fossil remains of the amazing prehistoric sea creature are on display. Take a walk past Osmington White Horse or enjoy scenic hikes through the Dorset Coast AONB and the West Dorset Heritage Coast.
