A short drive takes you to Portland Harbour, and the rugged “Isle” of Portland, linked to Weymouth by the dramatic Chesil Beach. Visit Dorchester, Thomas Hardy’s “Casterbridge”, only 7 miles away, or take a journey along the scenic coastal road and call in at Abbotsbury Swannery and Subtropical Gardens.     Impressed by the standard of the interior. Only slight issues were with allocated parking not signed and waste bin in kitchen not practical. Liked the BBQ and good bathroom facilities. Noticed fan extractors not working though. Did also spot someone set they key lock to the correct code when we went to leave, which made us wonder if someone accessed the property while we were out? Overall we enjoyed our stay. Thank You.

    I would have rated it even higher if the white towels hadn’t been grey, well worn and in need of replacing. We couldn’t use the oven, which needed cleaning and dealt out billowing smoke from previous uses. Nevertheless, we enjoyed our 3 night stay and the beautiful countryside views. Dogs also made very welcome.

    The sofas could do with replacing. The cottage could have more kitchen equipment and there were no cleaning products or kitchen roll provided. The garden was fine. The beds were comfortable and bathrooms were lovely. Overall a nice holiday cottage.
