Fern Cottage is the ideal choice for a romantic getaway, or a small family break with its two bedrooms and enclosed garden, it is sure to cater for many different party types. The stable door opens up into the sitting room, where you will be struck by how charming and well-furnished the room is, turning a compact space into a place you can't wait to cuddle up in with your loved one, in front of the woodburning-stove-effect gas fire on a winters’ eve. Passing over the large slate flagstone flooring and moving into the kitchen will bring you to a delightful range of appliances that you will be more than happy to rustle up a tasty home-cooked meal for the rest of the group, and they can keep your company sat at the dining table (that can seat 6 people) thanks to the open-plan layout, with a bottle of wine (or two!). Moving up the old steep cottage stairs when tiredness takes over, be welcomed into a beautifully presented super king-size room, complete with quality White Company bed linens and pristine white décor, you will wake up refreshed, and thanks to zip/link abilities it can be made into a twin room to suit your party's needs. A brilliant day out at any time of year is the 1000-year-old Sudeley Castle and Gardens, once home to the last (and surviving) wife of Henry VIII, with a playground for children and a duck pond and parkland, it will be a lovely trip to remember. Winchcombe is crossed by seven different long-distance footpaths, so whatever direction your're heading, you'll find a path to follow.

Property has done a great job of squeezing a quart into a pint pot and was clean and well provided for. Not suited for the very young or old or infirm due to the many steps from the car to back door and very steep interior steps. Lovely big bed in master bedroom (secondary glazing would be good as so near the road noise at the front of property). Only other negative for us was the fairly basic downstairs sofa and seating. We had a great week, appreciated the get you in pack and the town and ease to travel to other great places in the area.

It is perfectly situated in the town with everything you need on your doorstep. The cottage was very clean with good quality fixtures and fitting and a well equipped kitchen. Lots of hot water, a good shower and lovely quality towels and bed linen. Winchcombe is a delightful village with beautiful countryside within walking distance and some good places to eat.

The cottage is in a fantastic location, out the back is lovely and peaceful with beautiful scenery, a great place to sit and listen to the birds while out front your in the hustle and bustle of the town. Just perfect! Will definitely stay again and would 100% recommend Fern cottage, Winchcombe is a great bace to explore the Cotswolds. Jackie.
