Brookbank Folly is a unique and charming holiday rental in Gloucestershire, praised for its tranquillity, rustic appeal, and warm welcome from the owners. Guests have enjoyed the peaceful setting, the property's quirkiness, and the surrounding wildlife. It serves as a cosy retreat and a good base for exploring the Forest of Dean and local areas.
The majority of guests found the cottage to be immaculately clean and tidy, contributing to a comfortable and pleasant stay.
The property is appreciated for its secluded and stunning location, ideal for local walks and exploring the Forest of Dean, although some guests noted the single-lane access requires careful negotiation.
While many guests found the cottage cosy and the bed comfortable, there were comments about the need for a new mattress and a poor shower experience.
The Folly is well-equipped and full of character, but some guests mentioned the lack of Wi-Fi and mobile signal, and a few suggested that updates are needed, particularly due to a past water leak and signs of damp.
Guests frequently mentioned the thoughtful touches, such as welcome packs and the provision of essentials. However, it should be noted that such gestures, while common, are not guaranteed.

, it was amazing so much better in reality than the pictures on line, the owners were first class and extremely helpful, even the sat nav took us straight to the gate!, the cottage was lovely and comfortable, so quirky, really quiet well except wildlife, an occasional car or tractor, everything you need was readily available, sharp knives to all your pots and pans and bathroom stocked with soaps and shampoo, oh and the milk and biscuits was welcomed, biscuits were lovelly and well received, so much to see and do, the Farmers Boy Inn, do the best Sunday roast, it was the best place to go for our week of respite as we care for two of our Grandchildren at 15 and 12, we sometimes need a break lol, love you really kids lol, ideal place to unwind and chill, will we be going back?, oh yes we most certainly will.
