About this property

The Oat House, in the delightful Cotswold village of Snowshill, is built in traditional style with honey coloured Cotswold stone beneath a slate roof. Locally there are many public footpaths and the Cotswold Way is close by.

The Oat House is an attached property built in traditional style with mellow honey coloured Cotswold stone beneath a slate roof. The delightful village of Snowshill is situated on the top of the Cotswold escarpment above the villages of Stanway, Stanton, Broadway, Buckland and Laverton.

This spacious home boasts a large, farmhouse style kitchen with a wood burning stove and a warming four oven Aga. The dining table sits centre stage with plenty of room for everyone to gather around and enjoy celebratory meals in front of the fire; there is also a comfy informal seating area to keep chef company and enjoy the warmth of the Aga and wood burning stove. The kitchen leads into a very generous utility/boot room with access outside, perfect for storing muddy boots and coats on your return from one of the many lovely walks in this stunning part of the Cotswolds. When evening draws in, retire to the inviting drawing room with a large, stone inglenook fireplace and yet another wood burning stove, traditional leaded windows and exposed beams are complemented by the tasteful and comfortable furnishings. The cosy snug is the ideal place to escape to and find some quiet time or enjoy a movie. There is also a convenient shower room located downstairs.

Climb the stairs to the four comfy bedrooms, where the vast master bedroom suite enjoys a super-king size zip and link bed, exposed beams and a large en-suite bathroom. Bedrooms two and three are just as flexible, also with zip and link beds, which can be configured as twin single beds if required and on request. Finally, the single bedroom is equally as comfy and all rooms feature quality bedding and linens to ensure a good night's sleep. A second family shower room is located on the first floor.

Outside, a beautiful, raised terraced garden is reached by steps (with a handrail). Please take care here and keep an eye on young children as there is a drop down. Garden furniture is provided on the patio area for enjoying al-fresco meals on warm, sunny days.

The village is secluded with period cottages and houses and a 19th century church clustered around a small green. Snowshill is renowned for its manor house with beautiful gardens and tea rooms which are administered by The National Trust. The Lavender Farm on the edge of the village also has tea rooms. The village pub, The Snowshill Arms, serves good food and is only a two-minute walk away.
