The owners are fantastic hosts. In addition to their generous welcome pack, John offered to pick up us and return us to the station when they heard we were travelling by train.

Drakes retreat is a lovely apartment , it has everything you need, even tho itâs a one bed apartment it is very spacious very comfy and cose, John & Shelagh are great hosts ,the one thing I will say is with it being a basement apartment there are a few steep steps to walk down so if you are on the older end you have to be steady on you legs ,but other than that we had a great week ,would highly recommend ,

The owners were very welcoming helping us carry the luggage in and showing us round. They were always on hand in case we needed anything. The flat was very clean, comfortable, roomy and with lots of storage space. Great shower. Plenty of kitchen basics included plus fresh bread, butter, milk and home-made marmalade. Also flowers. Didnât need the car as everything within walking distance or used the frequent buses, Lots to see in Plymouth including the huge National Aquarium, Box museum, the Hoe of course and the Barbican. Good for shopping too
