Guests say

Crooks Cottage in Somerset is a well-received holiday rental, praised for its cleanliness, cosy comfort, and peaceful location. Guests appreciate the well-equipped facilities and the thoughtful touches, including treats for both humans and dogs. While one review mentioned issues with cleanliness, the majority highlight a spotless environment and a welcoming atmosphere, making it a recommended stay for a quiet break in the countryside.

The majority of guests reported the cottage to be spotlessly clean, contributing to a welcoming and comfortable stay. One review did mention cleanliness issues, but this appears to be an isolated incident in the context of otherwise glowing reports.

The cottage's location is highly praised for its beauty and tranquillity, with easy access to local walks and attractions. The peaceful setting and proximity to nature contribute to a very positive experience for guests.

Guests find the cottage cosy and not cramped, with a well-designed space that provides a comfortable stay. The presence of a woodburner and an enclosed garden adds to the comfort level, although one guest suggested a larger sofa would be an improvement.

The cottage is described as well-equipped with all necessary facilities, contributing to an enjoyable stay. However, a few guests noted the absence of a cafetiere and issues with broadband quality, slightly impacting the overall score.

Many reviews mention the thoughtful touches provided by the hosts, such as treats for guests and their dogs, which add a special element to the stay. While these gifts are warmly appreciated, it is noted that such extras are subject to availability and not guaranteed.

The cottage is very well equipped and dog friendly with everything we could have needed during our stay. The welcome pack was gratefully received and the owners really have gone the extra mile with thoughtful touches like cosy throws and blankets, dog treats and an OS map of the area and lots of helpful information about places to visit locally and places to walk from the doorstep. The cottage is in a great location with lots of places to visit within about 15 miles so you don’t need to spend lots of time driving for a day out. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily stay again if we were in the area.

I can't really add to what has been said before. My five night November stay was made even better by the dry, warmish weather. I had a good walk one morning to the top of Crook Peak with my cocker spaniel Sam. Wonderful views from the summit which is just over a mile from the cottage and 600 foot of ascent. I'm 82 so have a go. You'll enjoy it! Wouldn't hesitate to return. Plenty to see in the area. The coast is not far away.
