Guests say

Celia's View is a charming cottage in Somerset, praised for its beautiful views and excellent location close to attractions and a dog-friendly pub. Guests appreciate the warm welcome, including lovely smelling candles, and the garden space. The property is generally well-regarded for its cleanliness, comfort, and facilities, though some minor issues were noted.

The property is mostly described as clean, with a few reports of dust, spiderwebs, and abandoned dog toys. The bathroom cabinet cleanliness was specifically mentioned as lacking, but overall the house appears to be well-maintained.

The location is highly praised for its lovely views, proximity to wildlife, a nearby pub, and local attractions. It is considered perfect for exploring nearby places, making it a super holiday spot.

The comfort of the property is generally well-received, with good quality beds and bedding. However, some guests found the kitchen chairs uncomfortable and one of the double beds too hard, affecting the overall comfort rating.

Facilities are adequate with a well-equipped kitchen, though some guests noted a lack of cutlery and other kitchenware. The half-sized dishwasher and small freezer compartment were points of contention. The absence of WiFi and limited TV channels were also noted.

While some guests mentioned welcome gifts such as candles and canned drinks, there is not enough information to assess the consistency or quality of these gestures across all stays. Therefore, it cannot be guaranteed that such gifts will be provided to future guests.

Located halfway between the county seat of Taunton and the city of Yeovil, the historic market town of Langport sits at the confluence of the River Parrett in the heart of the Somerset levels. Because of its convenient location, it serves as a commercial and cultural centre for the surrounding villages and as a jumping-off point for excursions into the surrounding countryside and the Somerset Levels, one of England's most pristine natural areas. The picturesque Somerset Levels can be explored on foot or bike via the many paths that wind through the surrounding countryside. It also features the country's longest standard gauge line, which can be travelled on the heritage railway. The beautiful town of Glastonbury, known for its world-famous music festival, is less than ten miles away, making this an ideal touring base for the region. The town also features a wide range of first-rate services and amenities, such as the stunning abbey, Clarkes Shopping Village at Street, Wells Cathedral, Wookey Hole, and Cheddar Gorge. Burnham-on-Sea, located on the coast, is a great option for a day at the beach thanks to its convenient location, wide variety of services, and beautiful sandy beach. The nearby Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (aonb) of Mendip Hills is ideal for serious hikers and cyclists. We felt the cottage was clean and modern and a lovely layout inside. The garden was absolutely secure for the dogs and well lit at nighttime. The area is lovely to explore, great walk up the (steep) hill at the back into Aller woods. Local pub is a short walk and a proper local with decent food. The only thing we found missing was a pair of scissors! No complaints at all we would definitely recommend this cottage.

My only tiny comment would be not being quite sure which bin to use for the recycling..

  • Susan

I did find that one of the double beds had an extremely hard mattress which meant I had to use the single bed which was much more comfortable. That said, our dog and us enjoyed our stay.
