The town of Taunton is less than ten miles away; rich with religious and military history, offering an Anglo-Saxon Castle, a museum, and a selection of parks and excellent shopping facilities. Local shopping is available at Bishops Lydeard or Williton. The popular West Somerset steam railway also runs from Bishops Lydeard to Minehead.
