Guests consistently praise Putham Barn for its stunning views, peacefulness, and wildlife spotting opportunities. The cosy and comfortable accommodation is appreciated, with special mentions of the sunroom and underfloor heating. The host, Mary, is frequently commended for her warmth and helpfulness. While most find the location ideal for exploring Exmoor, a few noted cleanliness issues and suggested improvements.
Most guests found the barn to be clean and cosy. However, there were a few mentions of cobwebs and flies, suggesting room for improvement in cleanliness. The majority of reviews did not raise concerns, indicating a generally high standard.
The location is highly praised for its tranquillity, beautiful views, and proximity to local amenities and walks. It serves as an excellent base for exploring Exmoor and the surrounding areas, with guests enjoying the wildlife and the nearby pub.
Guests describe their stays as comfortable, with particular appreciation for the cosy atmosphere and comfortable beds. The underfloor heating and well-laid-out barn contribute to the comfort. A few guests mentioned early morning light as a slight discomfort.
The barn is well-equipped according to guests, with a good shower, kitchen, and conservatory. Some guests suggested the addition of a bathroom blind and noted minor maintenance issues. Overall, the facilities are deemed satisfactory.
While some guests mentioned receiving gifts such as milk, eggs, and marmalade, which were appreciated, there are not enough references to consistently assess the thoughtfulness across all reviews. Therefore, while these gestures are noted, they are not guaranteed for all stays.

I loved the little cottage! It’s pretty, in a nice location (if you have a car) and has underfloor heating. The only thing that left a bad taste in my mouth was that as we were leaving the owner told us we needed to pay more because we brought a small dog, and when I mentioned she should request.... I loved the little cottage! It’s pretty, in a nice location (if you have a car) and has underfloor heating. The only thing that left a bad taste in my mouth was that as we were leaving the owner told us we needed to pay more because we brought a small dog, and when I mentioned she should request through booking.com so I know it’s official she said that we should pay by cash or bank transfer- which was a bit sketchy. We paid anyways, however, not an ending we wanted.
