Guests say

Castle View is a well-equipped and homely cottage in Dunster, praised for its cleanliness, comfort, and prime location. Guests appreciate the thoughtful touches like tea, cake, and flowers upon arrival. While the proximity to the church and its bells is noted, many find them charming, though light sleepers may need earplugs. The property's dedicated parking and the owner's helpfulness are frequently commended.

Guests consistently describe the property as clean and well-kept, indicating high standards of cleanliness throughout the cottage.

The location is highly praised for its convenience and proximity to local attractions, although the nearby church bells are a point of contention for some guests.

The cottage is frequently described as comfortable and cosy, with comfortable beds and a homely atmosphere, contributing to a pleasant stay.

Facilities are generally well-regarded, with a well-equipped kitchen and good amenities. However, some guests mention minor issues with Wi-Fi and a bath that could not be used, slightly affecting the score.

While guests often mention the thoughtful gestures of tea, cake, and flowers upon arrival, as these gifts are not guaranteed for every stay, it is not possible to provide a score for thoughtfulness.

About this property

This charming first and second floor apartment is situated in a big Georgian house in the centre of Dunster, by the church and public gardens. Located over the friendly owner’s bridal studio, it is a convenient base for families or couples. Head through a gate along a pretty flower-bordered footpath beside the building to your front door, leading to stairs up to the smart open plan living space. This is a lovely room with well equipped kitchen area, dining space with Portmeirion crockery and a seating area with quality furniture and time-wasting views of life on the little street below. Romantically on the top floor under the eaves are the bedrooms, the master double an elegant room with its en suite and views over roofs to the distant sea. Wander out to the public gardens just a few hundred yards away, or enjoy good walks over the estate of Dunster Castle, which stands dramatically on a hill and is well worth a visit. The village is full of interesting nooks and crannies, from the little shops to browse to the fine church, ancient streets, famous Yarn Market and tea rooms, restaurants and pubs for a choice of eateries. Exmoor's hills and valleys and Minehead's traditional seaside attractions are all must-sees here. Castle View is a splendid base for enjoying the sights and experiences of this lovely area. The property has off road parking

Dunster is a popular tourist village near the North Somerset coast and is a largely unspoiled spot: the centre of the town retains many old buildings which hug the winding cobbled streets.

Sofa and armchairs could be more comfortable. Owner owns shop downstairs . Tried to introduce ourselves but kept missing her due to shop hours being different most days

( very helpful) , I slept in the little room opposite the shower room and if you could hear the church bells ringing all night, not loud enough to keep you awake but I could hear them, Apart from that we had a very nice time. Good food at the forester’s Arms . Beautiful village , James Nelson
