Reviews present a mixed picture of cleanliness. Some guests found the cottage spotless and tidy, while others reported issues with cleanliness, including unclean kitchenware and presence of pet hair. The inconsistency suggests room for improvement.

The location is highly praised for its beauty and convenience, with easy access to local shops, pubs, and scenic walks. The proximity to Porlock village and the peaceful setting near a stream are particularly appreciated.

Guests generally find the cottage comfortable, highlighting the cosy atmosphere and comfortable beds. However, some mention the property feels cramped, especially with more than two people, and the spiral staircase poses difficulties for some.

The cottage is well-equipped, but several reviews mention maintenance issues such as a broken toilet seat, loose tiles, and a lack of instructions for appliances. The garden's upkeep is also a concern. These recurring issues suggest a need for attention to facilities and maintenance.

There is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the host. Therefore, it is not possible to provide a score in this category.

The bed was really comfy and the cottage had everything we needed. Loved sitting in the garden listening to the stream.

The main bedroom is very tight fir room making it difficult to manoeuvre around the bed frame plus a heater on the window side intrudes and reduces the space to about 15cm. The shower is pointless and really unusable due to poor water pressure. The kitchen cupboards are full of equipment meaning food storage, cereals, bread etc., has no where to go. The garden is a mess and needs urgent attention. The housekeeper Adrian does not respond to calls, all rubbish bins were full when we arrived with no uptodate info on collection days.

We are just into our 60’s and found it a difficult feature to deal with. Our dogs did not like the stairs and had to be carried up/down which lead to me sleeping on the sofa keeping the most nervous one company. We arrived on the Friday but cut our holiday short and left on the Sunday…..
