Guests say

High Lodge in Somerset offers a private, quiet stay with a beautiful setting and a local pub nearby. Guests appreciate the property's cleanliness, spaciousness, and dog-friendly environment. The large garden and surrounding areas are perfect for walks. Some guests suggest improvements in kitchen equipment and mention minor issues with maintenance and mobile reception.

The lodge is generally praised for its cleanliness, with multiple reviews noting it as clean and well-kept. However, there are isolated comments about dirty windows and outside chairs, which slightly affect the score.

The location is highly regarded for its peacefulness, proximity to dog-friendly areas, and a local pub with good food. The presence of wildlife and the quiet setting contribute to the high score.

Guests find the lodge comfortable, mentioning high-quality furnishings and comfortable beds. The spaciousness and privacy also contribute to the comfort. However, some guests noted issues with TV reception and a powerless shower, which slightly lower the score.

While the lodge is appreciated for its overall equipment and some thoughtful touches, several guests have suggested the need for better kitchen equipment, a more powerful shower, and improved TV reception. The presence of a DVD player and TVs in every room are positives, but the need for better maintenance of some facilities is noted.

Guests mention thoughtful gestures such as a bottle of prosecco, cider, and biscuits. These touches are well-received, but as they are not guaranteed for every stay, the score reflects the appreciation while acknowledging the variability of such offerings.

Even a bottle of bubbly and milk there for you, tea, coffee etc, lots of games etc, well thought through Negatives, the windows were very dirty, the fridge door rack was broken, the internal doors were temperamental and the shower was powerless That being said, it was a lovely place to stay and we had a lovely time

Enjoyed watching wild rabbits on the lawns. Cottage owner very helpful when we suffered a medical incident unrelated to the cottage. Pub and pub garden at bottom of the cottage drive is in a beautiful setting with a stream running by.

The garden was ideal for our two dogs because there was plenty of space for them to run around playing ball. Whilst it was great having a television in every room it would have helped if the reception had been better - the picture kept breaking up and I had to resort to watching programmes on my laptop. In addition if one wanted to use a mobile phone it was necessary to go out into the garden as there was no signal inside. However, despite these drawbacks we thoroughly enjoyed our week's stay at High Lodge but the inclusion of a visitors' book would be a good idea so comments could be added.
