The house is generally found to be very comfortable and well-equipped, though one of the double rooms is noted to be a bit cramped.
While the property is praised for its high standard and comfort, specific references to facilities like the kitchen are limited, and maintenance issues have been raised, preventing a definitive score.

Situated in the heart of Brixham, this charming seaside cottage boasts panoramic views across the village and offers a great base for friends or families. With easy access to the South West Coast Path less than 200 metres from your doorstep, avid walkers will love the dramatic coastal scenery and array of wildlife to be spotted along the way.
Unusually, the living room can be found on the top floor of the property, maximising your view of the sweeping scenery through the large bay windows. Pirate’s View has fantastic views over Brixham town and the harbour. It’s elevated, so is accessible by many steep steps or a steep slope; I therefore wouldn’t recommend to the less mobile - we loved the exercise though. Parking is an issue, as it’s limited and the streets are very narrow, but besides that everything else was excellent. The house is modern and styled nicely with all mod cons and the owners are very friendly and accommodating. Brixham is a friendly fishing town with nice dog welcoming restaurants and pubs. The coastal walks are beautiful, very hilly if you want to venture down to the coves, but well worth it. Salcombe and Dartmouth are worth visiting. Use the ferry to cross the estuary as the journey round is long and slow. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Pirate’s View and would recommend it to most people wanting to visit Brixham.

We really enjoyed our stay at Pirates Retreat and will definitely be returning. We were really comfortable there and it felt like home from home.

Cottage had a damp smell as you walked in the front door and when you went into both downstairs bedrooms,we asked for a twin room but they were all double rooms but this was sorted with a phone call to the maintenance team ,the grout on the tiles in the en-suite shower was very dirty with mold which I pointed out to the cleaners and they sorted very quickly ,there’s a lovely big rug in the living room but was full of dog hair and we didn’t take our dog this time other than thes small things everything was perfect, only other downside was we didn’t realise how many steps we had to walk down to get to the town and parking isn’t good
