What a wonderfully relaxing space, and so tastefully decorated. We can thoroughly recommend this beautiful house. The communication with Nick and Sophie was great, nothing was too much trouble. We had a grocery delivery sent to the house the day before arrival and Sophie kindly took delivery and put it in the fridge, all ready for us to cook our celebration dinner! The check in was easy. They have thought of everything. There was fragrant flowers throughout the house, artisan breads, fresh eggs, and a well stocked drinks trolley. Outstanding….photos do not do it justice. From waking up to an amazingly orange sunrise to sitting around a fire pit toasting marshmallows under the stars, it’s been truly ‘a little bit of heaven!’We hope to return soon.

Nick & Tamsin's house is absolutely gorgeous and we had the best long weekend there! As the other reviews say, the interiors are indeed stunning but what I liked most was that it still felt family-friendly and practical. We were two families, each with 3 and 1 year old kids, and we found that Bachelors Lodge had everything we needed (and more). The boys loved sharing the bunk beds downstairs, and the 'secret' child's bedroom off of one of the doubles was the cutest room I've ever seen. The details were what made it stand out above any other Airbnb we've stayed at: all velux windows have blackout blinds which is a massive help with children, fresh eggs and bread provided on arrival, multiple highchairs and a travel cot for the babies, the kitchen is really well equipped and everything seemed brand new (magimix, double oven, baking equipment, cafetiere), laundry & dishwasher tablets were supplied... Sophie is the lovely concierge, who met us and showed us round, shared details of local Jubilee festivities we could attend and was on hand for any questions during our stay which was also very helpful. In terms of entertainment: there is a lovely lawn (we enjoyed sundowners on the patio after the children were in bed), table tennis and darts, a small adjacent wooded area perfect for Gruffalo hunting, a full size football goal in the field, a huge trampoline and the undoubted highlight of the ride-on electric tractors. The 3/4 year old boys were *obsessed*!The location is great too - you feel in the middle of nature surrounded by meadows, but it was only 10 minute walk into the sweet Hundon village & the pub, and it's not too remote for supplies (we had an Ocado delivery, and there are a few big supermarkets a 15 min drive away in Haverhill). It looked like there were loads of great places nearby for outings, but we didn't get round to exploring!Anyone reading this review: book immediately, you won't be disappointed :)
