A beautiful shepherds hut, fully equipped with a very comfortable bed, also a TV /dvd - fully functioning kitchen with a convector oven and hob and small fridge - shower and toilet -everything you need is provided by the lovely and thoughtful host Alison - welcoming hamper included which provided me with a wonderful breakfast on my first day. Previous guests have said get a toaster but if you read the manual the oven has a grill function and does some lovely toast. This hut is set in a secluded woodland which for the duration of your stay is yours to explore - pick up firewood and place in the fire pit and sit around it in the chairs and table provided. Firewood was already there but it’s fun to search for it yourself. There is heating in the hut but I didn’t need it and found the temperature to be just right. I was a sole traveller and although secluded from everything felt very safe and secure. Peacocks from adjoining property come to visit - it rained and was windy during the 3 days that I stayed but didn’t impede on my visit at all. I visited Framlington castle for an event and it’s only 10 mins drive away from this wonderful sanctuary. Highly recommend.

Everything we wanted for a weekend getaway. Quiet and secluded area to unplug from everything. Very well set up hut and a lovely fire pit. Would definitely recommend.

Our few days at the Shepherd hut was exactly what we wanted. Totally relaxing and a lovely retreat, it felt as though you were away from everything. Sharing the woods with the sparrow hawk family was a real treat, as well as the owl coming down in front of the hut when we tried the outside lights! The hut had everything you need (great shower), and the bacon and eggs were a lovely thought (and very tasty). We would definitely visit again and recommend for anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing few days.
