About this property

This charming two-bedroom cottage is the only house in Aldeburgh that benefits from both direct access to the High Street from the front and a sea-facing garden to the rear. The cosy cottage sits only a stone’s throw from the shingle beach making it the perfect base for all that the town has to offer, for both summer holidays and winter breaks.

Marine Cottage has been brightly decorated reflecting Aldeburgh's colourful surroundings and wide blue skies. The cottage is split over three floors, with the kitchen and dining room on the lower ground floor, together with a shower room, perfectly situated as you come in after a long day on the beach. The kitchen leads you to a paved sun trap garden with raised flower beds that in the summer months becomes a riot of flowers, including a display of hollyhocks that has gained the cottage a small degree of local fame, perfect for alfresco dining. A gate at the rear of the garden leads you to the beach just a few yards away.

On the first floor the bright sitting room offers beautiful sea views, a perfect place to relax. Across the hallway a twin room overlooks the lively High Street, a charming scene to keep you entertained on a rainy day.

Further upstairs on the second floor you will find the master bedroom with a double bed out to the best sea views in the property, perfect for a contemplative morning coffee. You will also find a spacious family bathroom up here, equipped with a bath, wash basin and WC.

Marine Cottage makes the perfect base for families and friends alike that enjoy beach days and sailing, and yet want to be near restaurants and shops.

We've loved our stay at Marine Cottage! Fantastic weather and holyhocks! We enjoyed days out to Thorpeness, Southwold and Snape. The views are amazing as well as the walks and wildlife. Really great places to eat and drink! Two Magpies is a must and The Lighthouse is excellent. We'll be back.
