About this property

Aldeburgh 1 mile. True to its name, Skylight near Aldeburgh in East Suffolk, offers a light-flooded, contemporary space which is the perfect location for family and friends on holiday together. The open-plan living space is incredibly stylish and has been designed with the views of the outside very much in mind. Bi-folding doors open onto the cool decking area encouraging guests to spend time outdoors. Imagine sitting on the decking area with a glass of your favourite tipple in hand while the designated cooks up a tasty meal in the kitchen and the children run round safely in the gardens below. At the same time, if the weather doesn’t allow too much time spent alfresco, the inside space is equally inviting with a large, welcoming seating area perfect for sitting around chatting with the addition of a TV to keep everyone entertained. The sleek kitchen is fully fitted with everything you could possibly need to rustle up delicious food for the whole party and an elegant dining area awaits guests where they can pull up a chair, tuck into a hearty meal, catch up on the day’s adventures and enjoy the sublime views from the double doors opening onto an attractive Juliet balcony. The bedrooms are thoughtfully located on the lower-ground-floor where a peaceful and restful space has been created. Take your pick from two stylishly presented king-size beds, or even a twin, which are all simply delightful to wake up to in the morning. Jump in the shower for a refreshing start to the day or have a relaxing soak in the opulent bath at the end of a hard day of holidaying. There is so much to see and do around Skylight it really is a great base for exploring. The nearby town of Aldeburgh is worth a visit with a good selection of shops, bars, cafes, boutiques and galleries plus the beach is close by so worth packing a picnic and a bucket and spade for. For a taste of history check out Glemham Hall and Halesworth Museum both within a short drive. Walks include Iken Church walk, Glemham woodland walk and Wickham Market, which are all rewarded with some great views. For the kids, Easton Farm Park is a must-visit and isn’t far by car and Aldeburgh Music is an international performance centre with an all-year round programme and definitely worth checking out while you’re in the area. Skylight promises guests an enlightening stay.

The popular, vibrant seaside town of Aldeburgh is famous for its culture, traditional feel and one of the best fish and chip shops in the country! Aldeburgh and Snape Maltings are home to one of the world’s greatest music festivals and has been named as one of the top 50 places to live in Britain. Crag Path runs along the seafront dividing the beautiful pebbly beach from the unspoilt pastel-coloured seafront properties and the town. The beach is a popular place for groups and couples to enjoy the wonderful fish and chips throughout the summer months. The town is steeped in history and has become a wonderful town for shopping with a good mixture of independent and chain stores to enjoy. The town also offers a good selection of pubs and restaurants or why not buy some freshly caught fish from the huts on the seafront and cook up your own feast at home. A lovely house with a nice view & a short drive from Aldeburgh centre & beach. The only downside was There were quite a few false widow spiders that seemed to have moved in especially around the skylights which our son in law evicted as with a baby & a 5 year old we wanted to make sure the spiders were gone! There seemed to be quite a few outside as well so might be worth checking they aren’t around when you get in! Apart from those interlopers the house & everything was clean & comfortable. A good 3 night break.
