Guests say

Cowmans Cottage in Aldeburgh, Suffolk, offers a comfortable stay with a fantastic location close to local amenities and the beach. Guests appreciate the thoughtful touches such as welcome gifts for both themselves and their dogs. While some find the cottage and its furnishings to be basic and in need of updates, the charm of the property and its surroundings often outweigh these concerns.

Reviews on cleanliness are mixed, with some guests finding the cottage clean and others noting issues with dust, cobwebs, and dirty crockery. The presence of dog hair and a musky smell were also mentioned, suggesting room for improvement in this area.

The cottage's location is highly praised for its convenience to local shops, cafes, and the beach, with many guests appreciating the short walking distance to Aldeburgh's amenities and the peaceful farm setting.

Comfort receives mixed reviews; guests find the beds and sitting room furniture comfortable, but there are several complaints about the shower, heating, and worn-out sofas. The garden's lack of secure fencing for pets is also a recurring concern.

Facilities and maintenance are areas where guests feel improvements are necessary. Criticisms include outdated shower facilities, insufficient kitchenware, and a lack of enclosed garden space. However, some guests are satisfied with the well-stocked kitchen and the presence of a log burner.

Many guests mention and appreciate the thoughtful welcome gifts for both themselves and their pets, indicating a personal touch from the owner. However, it should be noted that such gifts are a kind gesture and not guaranteed with every stay.

The cottage is in a great location if you want to leave the car behind. The tin of biscuits on the kitchen table were much appreciated by all of us, and the goodie bag for the dog was also appreciated! There are two shops within walking distance, Tesco express and a Co-op. Aldeburgh seafront is about a 15 minute walk, Thorpeness is about an hours walk. The cottage is well equipped and spacious enough for 5 adults. We've all agreed that we would definitely like to go back again.
