The Hide Out in Aldeburgh offers a peaceful and spacious lodge experience, ideal for exploring Suffolk's charming villages and nature reserves. Guests appreciate the well-equipped property, comfortable furnishings, and thoughtful touches like a welcome pack. While some outdoor maintenance issues are noted, the tranquil location and homely feel generally outweigh the minor concerns.
The lodge is generally described as clean and well-maintained, with a few guests noting areas that could benefit from a deeper clean. Dust and cobwebs were mentioned, but these seem to be isolated incidents rather than a common theme.
The location is praised for its tranquillity and proximity to local attractions. It is described as an ideal base for sightseeing, despite some comments about the long drive and lack of lighting on the approach.
Guests find the lodge comfortable, with special mentions of the beds and living area. However, the second bedroom is noted to be quite small, affecting the comfort level for some visitors.
The lodge is well-equipped, but there are several remarks about the need for maintenance, particularly outdoors. Issues with the decking, garden furniture, and the dried-up lake are recurrent themes, suggesting room for improvement.
Guests mention a welcome pack and the provision of basic necessities, which are appreciated. It is important to note that such gifts, while enjoyed by previous guests, are not guaranteed for every stay.

the Hide Out has been a perfect base for our explorations, and we have enjoyed the peace, quiet and seeing the wildlife. The goodleswere a lovely welcome. Thank you.
Penelope
We liked that it was out in the country, down a long lane, very quiet, no street lighting nearby, on a very small site with only a small number of other lodges, good parking, good facilities in the lodge
Robert
Prospective renters should be made aware of the condition and length of the gravel track to the property from the main road lots of pot holes need filling in also a powerful torch or lantern is essential as there is no lighting anywhere on the track around the lodges especially if you walk a dog after dark
