Guests appreciate the unique charm, excellent location, and thoughtful touches of Robert Sadler's Studio. The property's peaceful garden, proximity to the beach, and well-equipped kitchen are frequently praised. While some minor maintenance issues and cleanliness concerns are noted, the overall experience is positive, with many guests expressing a desire to return.
The property generally presents as clean and tidy, with fresh bed linen and towels. However, some guests have mentioned cobwebs, dust, and a need for deeper cleaning, particularly in less frequented areas like the garden room. The windows and kitchen could also benefit from more attention.
The location is highly praised for its quiet setting, convenient parking, and easy access to the high street and beach. It is considered perfect for exploring Aldeburgh and the surrounding areas, contributing to a relaxing holiday experience.
Comfort is a strong point, with guests finding the beds and sofas comfortable and the property well-furnished. Some guests, however, have noted that certain beds could be more comfortable and that the upstairs shower can be difficult to operate.
The property is well-equipped, with a good kitchen and welcome amenities. However, there are several mentions of maintenance issues such as stiff shower controls, loose door hooks, and temperamental TVs. The garden's upkeep and some structural concerns have also been raised.
Guests often mention and appreciate the welcome pack, which adds a thoughtful touch to their arrival. It is important to note that while these gifts are appreciated, they are not guaranteed for every stay.
The Studio of the late Abstract Expressionist painter Robert Sadler (1909-2001) is now a lovely light studio bedroom/living space on the first-floor, filled with memorabilia of a bygone time, and artwork painted by Robert Sadler himself. Between the two is the bathroom with beautiful roll-top bath.
Extensive outdoor space is a huge asset here – parking for four cars; a large fully enclosed garden; sunny south facing deck accessed from three sets of double doors and furnished for relaxing or eating in the sea air; as well as a wide first-floor balcony with sea view running along the length of the first floor.

A gravel path takes you round to the big south facing patio with front door, and double doors to both the single bedroom and kitchen. The garden’s mainly laid to lawn with well-established shrubs and a table with six chairs so you can enjoy the sea air. Running along the front of the studio on the first floor is a wide balcony with sea view and yet another table and chairs for meals, plus a lounger and two deckchairs just waiting for you to relax with a good book!

The popular, vibrant seaside town of Aldeburgh is famous for its culture, traditional feel and one of the best fish and chip shops in the country! Aldeburgh and Snape Maltings are home to one of the world’s greatest music festivals and has been named as one of the top 50 places to live in Britain. Crag Path runs along the seafront dividing the beautiful pebbly beach from the unspoilt pastel-coloured seafront properties and the town. The beach is a popular place for groups and couples to enjoy the wonderful fish and chips throughout the summer months. The town is steeped in history and has become a wonderful town for shopping with a good mixture of independent and chain stores to enjoy. The town also offers a good selection of pubs and restaurants or why not buy some freshly caught fish from the huts on the seafront and cook up your own feast at home. For those wishing for a more action-packed holiday there is excellent walking, cycling, sailing and golf at Aldeburgh. Growing in popularity you will want to return to Aldeburgh again and again!
