Set in the peaceful village of Rendham, this farmhouse makes a wonderful base for family gatherings and special occasions. An enticing blend of historic features and contemporary design, this five-bedroom abode is bursting with character and charm, offering ample space for up for ten guests and two playful pubs. With a fantastic village pub and a popular cafe and deli on your doorstep, plus the market town of Saxmundham just 2.5 miles away, all the amenities you need are close at hand.
Inside, this two-storey farmhouse has undergone a sympathetic renovation, bringing it firmly into the 21st century. It exudes warmth and character, thanks to the lovingly preserved timber beams that thread through the property, resulting in a homely and welcoming ambience. There’s ample space for socialising and entertaining, including a spacious living room with a large wood burner, comfortable seating and a Smart TV. The kitchen is a dream for chefs with a double range oven as well as an original baker’s oven, which offers a nod to the farmhouse’s heritage. Dine inside or out, with a casual breakfast table in the kitchen, a formal dining room with an impressive inglenook fireplace, and a dining table on the patio for al fresco feasts. The property boasts five elegantly appointed bedrooms divided between the ground and first floors. Downstairs, there’s a king-size bedroom with garden views, alongside a family bathroom. Upstairs, there are two king-size bedrooms, one super-king-size, and a twin room which share two contemporary shower rooms. The property also benefits from a front lawned garden bordered by flowers, with outdoor seating for soaking up the sun.
Saxmundham offers a wealth of history among its shops and eateries, with buildings dating from the Victorian, Georgian and Tudor eras. It’s a short ride to the delightful Suffolk coast, where you can explore the pretty seaside towns of Aldeburgh and Southwold (10 miles and 15 miles respectively) and visit nature reserves including rspb Minsmere (10 miles).
Mr Harris
Excellent property, good location for varied days out. Cafe on doorstep did super breakfasts and did not spoil cottage appearance.
Mrs Hoggart
Lovely house, very clean and beautifully furnished. All the bedrooms had really comfortable beds and excellent quality bedding. Plenty of room for our mixed-age family group.
Mrs Pye
This was a very comfortable and spacious house, perfect for our multi generational get together. The bedrooms were all of a very good size, with comfortable beds and lovely bedding. Bathrooms were good, as were towels. The dining room is a beautiful space with a huge table perfect for 8 adults and 3 children. Lovely ambiance for an evening meal. The kitchen was very well equipped with loads of cutlery, plates, glasses and cookware. Comfortable seating outside. Not much space for children to run around but there is a very good park with climbing frame etc just a five minute walk away. All in all a very good base from which to enjoy the Suffolk coastline. We would definitely return.
