Guests say

Poppy Cottage in Suffolk is highly praised for its peaceful and beautiful setting, with guests enjoying the comfortable accommodations and the property's proximity to local attractions. The grounds are appreciated for their tranquillity and wildlife, and the cottage's cosy atmosphere is a highlight, especially during festive seasons. Some guests mentioned minor maintenance issues and a desire for better signage, but overall experiences were very positive.

The majority of guests found the cottage to be clean and well-maintained, with only a few isolated comments about minor cleaning oversights. The general consensus is that the property is kept to a high standard of cleanliness.

The location is frequently commended for its beauty and convenience for exploring Suffolk. Some guests noted the distance to the nearest pub was longer than expected, but overall, the location is seen as ideal for a peaceful retreat and sightseeing.

Guests consistently describe the cottage as comfortable and cosy, with a warm atmosphere that is particularly appreciated during colder weather. The comfort of the cottage contributes significantly to the positive experiences of the guests.

Facilities are generally well-regarded, with mentions of a well-equipped cottage and lovely outdoor spaces. However, there are comments about the need for better signage, some maintenance issues like loose slabs, and a lack of hot water for baths, which slightly lowers the score.

Guests have mentioned welcome gestures such as cookies, milk, and bread, which add to the cottage's charm. While these gifts are appreciated, it is important to note that such thoughtful touches, although delightful, are not guaranteed for every stay.

The property was spacious and very well equipped. Ideal location for visiting the nearby Sutton Hoo, Framlingham Castle, Aldeburgh and Orford Ness. Enjoyed a nice meal at The Lion. The "famous" bangers and mash was particularly hearty. We can highly recommend a stay here.

We were supposed to stay for Saturday and Sunday night, however, we went home Sunday as there was a Motor cross event on close by that was horrendously noisy. Also there was an engine that I think was pumping water which was on and off all day. We couldn’t even sit and enjoy the garden because of the noise. If we had known about the event we would definitely not have booked.
