Little Turnpike Cottage in Melton, Woodbridge, is praised for its attractive, cosy, and comfortable ambiance, with a convenient location close to town and walking paths. Guests appreciate the enclosed garden, private parking, and the thoughtful welcome touches. While some maintenance issues are noted, the cottage's charm and amenities generally leave a positive impression.
Reviews indicate a mix of experiences regarding cleanliness. Some guests found the cottage to be clean and welcoming, while others noted it required a more thorough clean, with specific references to dust, cobwebs, and stained items. The score reflects this inconsistency.
The location is highly praised for its proximity to Woodbridge, ease of access to local walks, and the peaceful setting. The convenience and attractiveness of the location contribute to a high score.
Guests generally find the cottage comfortable, with cosy rooms and comfortable beds. However, some mention issues with heating and dampness, which slightly lower the score.
The cottage is well-equipped for self-catering and has received compliments for its design and amenities. Nonetheless, recurring mentions of maintenance issues such as loose toilet seats, incorrect WiFi information, and the need for updates in certain areas affect the score.
Guests often mention the thoughtful welcome gifts, which add to the cottage's charm. However, as these gifts are not guaranteed for every stay, the score reflects the positive impact of these touches while acknowledging their discretionary nature.

We often stay in Woodbridge to visit family but this has to be the best accommodation we have ever stayed in. The location was perfect, peaceful and private yet with in walking distance of Woodbridge. The cottage was beautifully equipped and we had everything we needed for our stay. The bedrooms were so warm and comfortable. We will definitely book again next time we are visiting family

Tags in fire blanket missing. Grease filter in cooker hood needs replacing Photograph of settees in the living area hasn't been blue for several years, now beige. Bench seating in patio area is in poor condition.

Temp kept at 18 not 20 as described. When we arrived temp in the house was only 12 degrees. Cleaning was ok, but mirrors were smeared and the place feels âunlovedâ eg kitchen clock batteries flat, bedding clean, but stained, chips in cups. Disappointing as itâs a lovely cottage but the failed attention to detail lets it down. Also disappointing as issues have been referred to before but owners have failed to address these which lets down Best of Suffolk
