Heading out to explore couldn’t be easier with the chocolate-box pretty village of Hasketon on the doorstep and nearby towns of Woodbridge, Aldeburgh, Southwold and Thorpeness, all worth a visit. Woodbridge is located on the river Deben and offers loads of activities including cruises along the river and loads of interesting shops in the town to have a browse. Aldeburgh and Thorpeness are both fascinating seaside towns and Southwold is also well worth a visit with its selection of brightly coloured beach huts, lighthouse and pier. Ideal attractions for a day out include Sutton Hoo, Framlingham Castle, Africa Alive Zoological Reserve, Go Ape Thetford and Easton Farm Park. Woodbridge is a historic riverside market town boasting an outstanding selection of independent shops, restaurants and pubs. The town has been famous for boatbuilding, rope and sail making since the Middle Ages. The working tide mill is a major attraction and a must visit for anyone staying in the area. The River Deben runs alongside the town and is popular for boating, walking and wildlife with wonderful views over to the National Trust site of Sutton Hoo. The town hosts a number of events throughout the year and is a wonderful place to visit.
